The Sweetwater Center for the Arts is seeking an Accounting Assistant to primarily serves as a support role for the Director of Finance & Operations and will provide accounting and administrative assistance to ensure the efficient operation of the organization. This position requires flexibility with job tasks and a willingness to assist where needed.

Job Description 

  • Part-timeNon-exempt  

  • Hourly$20.00/hr. 

  • Hours: 18hrs./week in office, flexible scheduling 

  • Reports to Director of Finance & Operations 

 

The Accounting Assistant primarily serves as a support role for the Director of Finance & Operations and will provide accounting and administrative assistance to ensure the efficient operation of the organizationThis position requires flexibility with job tasks and a willingness to assist where needed.

Key Responsibilities 

  • Manage integrated processes between office systems and Quickbooks online; 

  • Assist with financial reconciliation of events; 

  • Reconcile monthly credit card reports; 

  • Input weekly vendor checks in Quickbooks and make bank deposits; 

  • Prepare weekly and monthly spreadsheets for financial reporting; 

  • Maintain the front office: phone and email correspondence, answering customer questions and assisting with class registrations and facility inquiries; 

  • Assist with the monitoring, ordering, and restocking of office, classroom & facility supplies; 

  • Open and close the building when needed which includes sweeping, mopping, collecting trash and properly setting alarm system; 

  • Other tasks as assigned. 

Qualifications 

  • Enrolled in a bachelor’s degree in accounting or equivalent combination of education and training required 

  • Experience with Quickbooks Online preferred but not required 

  • Detail-oriented; organized and possess strong interpersonal skills; ability to multi-task and basic computer knowledge (MS Office, Word, Excel and PowerPoint) 

  • Valid Pennsylvania driver’s license with reliable transportation  

  • Clearances required: PA Child Abuse, PA State Criminal & FBI Criminal, will assist with obtaining   

  • Regularly required to sit, stand, walk, bend, and lift objects of up to 30 lbs.
