
Part Time Senior Accountant
About Us: Schreiber Accounting and Advisory PLLC is a small CPA firm located in Sewickley, PA led by Alex D. Schreiber, CPA. The firm’s clients are small businesses, nonprofits, and individuals primarily located in the Greater Pittsburgh area.
The Opportunity: The firm is seeking a part-time senior accountant to assist in providing services to its growing client base. The person selected for this role will primarily assist in providing bookkeeping, payroll processing, tax preparation, and financial statement compilation and review services. The role will also have exposure to other service lines, such as business advisory and tax resolution services.
What You Will Do:
- Take the lead in providing bookkeeping, payroll processing and tax preparation services for assigned clients
- Assist firm leadership in performing financial statement compilations and reviews, business advisory, and tax resolution services
- Assist with engagement planning, communicating with clients, meeting deadlines and workpaper preparation
- Develop a deep understanding of small business, nonprofit, and individual clients, their needs and how to best serve them
- Research and resolve issues with the ability to document and convey results in a clear and concise manner
- Become an expert in the various software applications used in providing these services
- Display an understanding and respect for professional standards
- Receive one-on-one training and coaching tailored to your strengths and career goals
- Other duties as assigned
Compensation: Pay range is between $22 and $32 per hour depending on skills and experience.
Requirements:
- Commitment to handle sensitive or confidential information with honesty and integrity
- Post-secondary education in accounting or closely-related discipline; or commensurate work experience
- Minimum 1 year of experience in public accounting, 2 years or more preferred
- Reliable, strong work ethic, ability to prioritize to meet tight deadlines and a commitment to exceptional client service
- Organized and flexible with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects
- Must be a self-starter and able to work independently as well as part of a team
- High level of efficiency, accuracy, attention to detail, and responsibility
- Excellent computer, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Availability
- To start, the expected time commitment is approximately 20-25 hours per month, weighted somewhat heavier at the beginning of each month. The time commitment is expected to increase to 15-25 hours per week over the next six to twelve months as the firm grows.
- From mid-January through mid-April, approximately 15-20 additional hours per week will be needed to handle the seasonal tax workload.
- Training will occur in-person at the firm’s office in Sewickley. After trust and competence has been established, much of the work may be done remotely if desired with some in-person days.
