About

The mission of the Sewickley Valley Historical Society is to promote interest in and to record, collect, preserve, and document the history of the Sewickley Valley. Since 1973, SVHS has been fulfilling that mission, offering the Sewickley Valley area a place to share and preserve its history through events, a lecture series, preservation initiatives, including the SVHS Preservation Grant and Preservation Award, and community engagement with the area's storied past. Having celebrated its 50th Anniversary year in 2023 -2024, SVHS looks forward to next 50 years of preserving and present the history of the Sewickley Valley.
