The Lindsay Theater and Cultural Center in Sewickley is hosting the Pittsburgh theatrical premiere of the documentary Collections in Black on Thursday, June 18, at 7:30 p.m. Collections in Black was directed by Phillip Thompson, a multi-hyphenate artist who many Pittsburghers know as DJ Big Phill. His film delves into the significant contributions of Black comic book creators, artists, illustrators and collectors from the Golden Age of comics through today. Thompson will display a few physical examples of Black comic book excellence and lead an in-person Q&A following the screening. Tickets are free, and The Lindsay recommends RSVPing in advance.
