The Places We Keep Opening Reception

Join us at Mark Rengers Gallery for the Opening Reception of our next exhibition, a show featuring the works of 14 local and regional artists who share their appreciation for Western PA. 

Statement:

We all know what it feels like to be attached to a place. You carry it with you, a comforting feeling, a home. Some of these places are where we find ourselves now, and some are long gone. Maybe they are little more than memories. 

Artists cannot preserve every building, every street, every shadow, but they can capture something even more significant: the feeling. The feeling of having been there, the memories of growing up, the nostalgia connecting person to place. 

The Places We Keep is an opportunity to preserve tomorrow’s memories before they slip into history.
